What to save from an e12 parts car?

Does this E12 have AC? A friend of mine is looking for an AC retrofit and might use the center console piece.

It did, yes. I pulled all the HVAC stuff today. Is this what your friend needs?

thanks - that is the evaporator. My friend is looking for the front plate that sits before that part. In any case the evaporator can be re-sold for a bit as it is a valuable piece, as all the other AC parts usually are now.

Gotcha. So this is what they need? Or just the center section of this?

If the car has factory fog lights on it, I'd be interested in the lights, wiring and switch. Maybe some of the engine compartment AC parts, too.

If you've already got the evaporator out, then getting the heater valve out won't be hard.

If any of the U joints for the HVAC knobs are good, I'll take them.

It has fogs, but the glass is broken on both and the reflector on one is rusty. Still happy to pull them if you'd like, and it does have the switch.

I've got the entire heater box out at this point... pretty close to being done stripping the entire car. I'll post some photos of everything tomorrow or the next day.

One of the u-joints broke while I was removing the evaporator, but in a way that it might be possible to glue or plastic weld it back together? I'll see what I can do.

That's the end of that. I found a local guy who wanted the shell so I towed it off to him today, after pretty well stripping it bare, and cutting out the one good floor, frame rails and rear seat support in case I can use them. I've been in touch with a few people here about parts and will post the other stuff in the classifieds soon.

While I had the tow dolly I picked up my e9 from my buddy's house with my trusty e39 wagon and brought it over to my place to get started. It's originally Taiga Green and I'll be returning it to that color. I'll start a restoration thread once I get going. Thanks to everyone for all the advice!
