Arcticsblau:
I bought a very nice coupe from Paul Briggs. It's clear that in his owership the car was very well cared for. It's Articsblau with a dark blue interior. Very understand, very German, very hot in the summer, and IMHO lacking some contrast.

I'm looking for ideas on what colors to consider for an interior color change.

How which of the "tans" might look good. What about a buckskin or natural brown?

I would go with horizontal pleats but have the center panels perforated for better breathability.

Do you have to have a BMW original upholstery color? If not I really like the light brown in my car and think it would be really good with your blue as well.

I'd definately go with saddle.Really nice color combo with contrast.

Thanks.

no, original color is not important. Aesthetic harmony is a higher priority.

I have a friend who has a 2800 sedan that had a medium brown vinyl interior that seems the same as saddle. So maybe it's period correct.
I had a 3.0Si that was anthracite exterior with tan leather. That was a nice combination, but maybe you are right that a darker shade is better with the blue.

redish brown

hi john, congrats on getting a car - show us the pics!

re interior, here is a car i saw at coupeking a few years ago - it had a dark brown/slightly redish interior, pics dont do it justice, it was really beautiful. http://www.coupeking.com/tundra-72-cs-5-speed-excellent-1993. also just plain tan is nice (ala my car), but pretty common. id def search out the wine color, would be spectac with dark blue.

I like the contrast of tan/butterscotch leather with my Polaris. The brown in the coupeking ad is too unnatural brown/chocolate. Reminds me of vinyl.

Mario's already hacking it up to do this

I haven't gotten to drive it even 1 inch yet because it went straight up to Mario's for the bumper conversion. Still looking for a rear bumper....

Mechanicals and interior work this winter.

Respray, someday ...
