What's the deal w/the rear red turn lenses?

Doug,
Remains to be seen. If the set I get are indeed perfect I will ask for pre-manufacture orders and probably get a few more than that number.
I think if memory serves $200 a side? Don't hold me to that...need to get a final from the manufacturer.
hopefully if we can get enough sets to order that they can do better than 200 a side.
get bmw parts shows - 63211356991 = $525.65 for the overall lens (all 3 lenses and the chrome / side). msrp = 657.06 each. real oem shows them for 460.35 each

Unfortunately, none of the factory part numbers are available.
I have tried to buy all of the following tail light numbers - all are now NA in BMW’s parts system.
63211356991
63211356992
63211356987
63211356988
63211353157
63211353158
63211353159
63211353160
I did manage to get the last 63211353160. Now I need a left to match it.

look how bad the pitting is on the chrome. the same person has some lenses that were cut out of another housing - looks like it was done with a dremel tool ... more importantly, it looks like the lens that Stan sent to have the prototypes made. be careful, the ones originally made did NOT fit into a housing.

so which one is the 160? what differentiated it? red turn signal, amber reverse light ... or something different?

Jon,

question, do they come up as NLA or no inventory. generally when they are NLA, dealers and realoem will show them as NLA when you put the parts number in. there are a number of parts that show no stock, then at some random time, they show up again. this is what Mario has described, when somebody triggers the order system.

They come up as NLA in BMW's system. Most just went NLA in the last few months.
I'm good friends with the parts manager at Dave Walter BMW. We have spent a lot of time searching US and Germany inventory looking for these with no luck.

Didn't DQ just pay $3k for an NOS set?
