OK - strange question. I have 16 inch staggered Alpinas but have retained the 14 inch 195/70 X 14 inch original spare because it fits in the spare tire well. If I needed to use the spare would the Alpina bolts be too long? Of course in reality if I got a flat I would probably have the car flat bedded to fix since I do not take a floor jack with me and am very nervous about using jack points even without known rust. Thanks.

don't believe so - the e9 uses studs mounted to the hub, so there are just nuts to hold the wheels in place. the alpina nuts are closed in nuts compared to the stock open nuts. the mounting surface of the wheel is about the same thickness. i have my stock wheels on my car right now and i have them attached with coupeking alpina nuts (all i have)

If you are worried about only having the Alpina nuts, why not pick up a handful of the stock nuts. Probably lots of folks here have extras just laying around.

As to the jacking problem, I purchased an inexpensive Honda sissors jack and a small block of hardwood that I carry so I can jack my car on the frame rails and/or rear subframe mounting points.

i personally am NOT worried about needing or using stock nuts. i will be putting 15" OZ alpina style wheels on the coupe, and the coupeking alpina nuts will be perfect.

Good info. Obviously I had not had the wheels off the car. The scissors jack is a good idea. I have a good floor jack at home. But the scissors jack is portable.

Thanks all.

I happen to think 15s look best on our cars.
