wheel weight removal?

I have some alloys that are ready to refinish, but I am ignorant as to the safe way to remove wheel weights (the clip on type)...don't want to chip out a chunk or otherwise mar some pretty nice wheels...prior knowledge/thoughts?

They need to rotate in towards the center of the wheel to come off. Tire shops have pliers for this that grab them by the hole in the clip. If your tires are off you can knock them from that side with a punch and hammer.

Thanks Layne...I saw the hole and assumed such, but, like I said...ignorant. If they have a tool for it, maybe I'll just take them there...
