I know they are available from BMW, but I wanted to try Uro brand.

I also still need the black plastic heater/ fan box and some dash vents as well a s a dash top.

Thank you.

URO just say No

I know that in the BMW 2002 world, URO seals have received bad reviews. I tried one of the URO front windshield seals on my 73 2002tii. The seal fit poorly (esspecially in the corners) and the profile of the rubber was just wrong. I ended up eventually pulling the front windshield again and replacing the seal with the correct seal from BMW. Just my $.02,
John

Hi Chris

But even the BMW seals in the engine bay aren't right anymore. This is a car I am putting together to very high standards, but the foam rubber seal behind the fire wall is such an easy item to reproduce, I'd be surprised if it isn't identical. I could be wrong.... I restore mostly Mercedes and my Coupe has all original parts anyway. Not current BMW parts.....

The large foam seal is one I've never seen and not common in my mind. The straight one on firewall fits but takes some bending, perhaps a small slit and Carl has the radiator wall seal.

I think he is the only one with the front rad panel seal, he had them made years ago and still supplies them. The foam seal is merely the soft one in front of the windshield, it isn't foam but it is softer than the others.

Chris

Are you saying Carl has a correct repro of that front seal? I've seen seals lately that fit, but they are kind of bulky and don't go around the angles so well. Only important for concours cars, of course.
