Hi All,

I'm searching for a repair manual that is more comprehensive than the well known online manual (http://www.e9-driven.com/Public/Library/BMW-E9-Manual/pages/en/index.html).

On ebay there are some technical drawings for sale.

http://www.ebay.nl/itm/261438764458?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Does anyone know from which manual they come? Are they from the blue books? Or do the blue books contain these drawings also?

Regards, Rinke

I am not close to any manuals, but I suspect the drawings, or similar drawings with those dimensions can be found in the hardcopy (Bluebinder) shop manual. Those dimensions are also typically available in the manuals that accompany frame stretching equipment, but the age of some vehicles makes this proposition "iffy."

Depending upon what you are looking for, the owner's manual also has some interesting info.

Hi Netherlands,
If you are going to do some kind of standard maintenance/service/repair you will get all necessary information within the manuals you already find.
For major or special works you would find the best way to do it by using the search functionality on the site were you reading this :-) (better than any written manuals)

Cheers!
Stefan

@nashvillecat, I'm familiar with the owners manual, but the pictures you refer to are almost the only 'technical' drawings in the owners manual.

@stefan, I'm doing more than the standard repair/service/maintenance. I've almost finished my first coupe now and the second will have a full rebuild. I'm searching for more information like the pictures that are sold on ebay, it's more as backup information and reference. A bit 'nice to have' also ;).

Same for torque settings, I did some search on the internet and this forum, but I can't get a clear overview for the total car. I don't know if there is a total overview anyway? I hope to find that also in the manual that contains the technical drawings who are sold on Ebay.

+1, Yes those are chassis drawings from the BMW blue book.

I bought myself a copied set of Blue Books from deQuincey, it contains indeed everything! I'm very glad with it!
