Where does this screw go?

I have taken apart most everything in my coupe and have never seen one like that.

Looks like the screws that go in the floors that the carpets snap on to. The unthreaded shaft is where the under carpet mats are.
Odometer re-set knob ?
Not a coupe carpet post though and not odometer.
Hopefully it will become obvious when the part it attaches to the car is the only item on the garage floor.
Just kidding Luis...I have not seen that on my E3 anywhere...yet. Actually looks a bit too sophisticated for the car.

No need to delve any further into this, this is not a coupe part, an E3 part or any BMW part for that matter. This was probably put into the car by a previous owner because this was the only screw that he had on hand that fitted.
