Someone, Mario I think, was working on a reproduction but Ive lost track of where that project stands. The original ones with the rubber lip are very hard to find. The last NOS one I saw on eBay a couple years ago was over US$1,000. There are a couple old threads on the topic:
I made mine out of carbon fiber. It actually replaced the entire trunk skin. I was tired of repairing the trunk lip. I still have the mold for it and may be tempted to make a few more.
It can be viewed at http://www.e9-driven.com/RegistryView.asp?RID=2825
Click on the first picture and it will bring up the blue coupe with the duck tail.
Re: replaced the entire trunk skin with carbon fiber
I assume you have to remove the existing metal skin for your setup and bond your replacement onto the inner framework that is left after removing the outer skin from the trunk deck lid? I suppose some people with rotted out trunk decks would like to see an entire replacement trunk deck with integrated spoiler. That might make a few steel OEM trunk decks in good shape available to the community.
I received a Zaprace and it's not a very good design at all.Looks alot like a 635 tail(way to big).So my goal is to rip it up by shortening by 4" and cut it down in height at least a couple of inches so it's time to learn some fiberglassing skills.
