Just checking in and testing you guys..... There is a UK magazine article from god knows how long ago featuring a red RHD CSL.

Does anyone know what I am talking about?

Well there is one memorable line which describes the driving position as 'legs and arms akimbo'.....

Its one of my all time favorite E9 articles and if anyone has a link or scan handy I would appreciate it if you can post it here.

I could also search it out myself, but I want to share it with as many of you as possible.

Thanks,

MF

I am not familiar but I can craft a plausible article about that.

Thanks for the generous offer...I am searching for the article currently, hopefully I find it....

No problem, the story of "legs" Akimbo is as unlikely as inspirational and thus worth re-telling.

I want to hear it too! Does this take place inside the car and does it matter if you have a sunroof or not? And if you are in the States or the UK is it the same results?
Thanks Arde

Akimbo was one of the first African born athletes to make it big in the NBA more than three decades ago. His dangerous village upbringing developed in him an unusual speed that earned him the "legs" nickname. His speed was so radical that NBA refs complained about getting pneumonia from Akimbo running by them for an entire game. Akimbo was not particularly talented but in sports and cars many sins are atoned by raw speed. A well read athlete Akimbo used to paraphrase Asimov and say "talent is the last refuge of slow people".
His professional basketball gains allowed Legs Akimbo to purchase flashy sports cars, though the only one he could fit in was actually the CSL. Some believe headroom is reduced in sunroof coupes, though that was not the case. Akimbo stuck his head through the sunroof when driving the CSL. Some BMW scholars argue Akimbo was so iconic that the L in CSL was added for Legs (Akimbo).

Thanks for my morning laugh

Well done, with great effort put into the story. Looks like I will have to add another one of my own coupe stories soon....stay tuned.
