I have a few of the black plastic pull-off armature cover motors and the steel housing high strength magnet E-28 motors available. I put the high strength ones on my 74 coupe and the difference was astounding on clean and freshly greased regulators. These will not retrofit the sardine cans to my knowledge, but if I had a regulator to try them on I would know. 3-bolt attachment as long as the pinion and the holes line up...

There are several threads/posts on here about the modest modifications needed to make the later (late '73+) e9 motors, or the rear door e28 motors fit and function on the earlier cars.

Still have an assortment of 8 and 10 tooth motors available, even a few of the E28's. I ran the e28's on my 74, fantastic conversion.
