Window regulator issue

The driver-side window regulator stopped working properly on my '70 2800 CS: it makes a grinding sound when I try to operate it & the window only moves a short distance. I took the door panel off, and I'm pretty sure the plastic gear teeth (that the worm gear from the window motor connects to) has a stripped section.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this? The window now raises and lowers only if I help it along with my arm.

First you need the size/teeth#, then try to call odometergears.com and see if they can guide you (apparently the owner is very helpful per the E24 forum). Also search Hobby sites as many RC cars use plastic gears.

Ask coupeking or carl nelson to sell you a used gearbox. I have bought from them before.
