I would like to check with You as much more experienced what is the best way to store the windshields (front/rear)?

It is a huge risk on each step.
They're having high bending angle.
I would like to store them (for a long time probably) and don't risk to damage them as my problem is not a huge storage place area.

Maybe they should be as long as possible on the car?

Vertically, like the glass guys do in their trucks. I have been storing a windshield for 'the day' for a few months now always in a vertical positon, wrapped in packing/funiture blanket and with some foam buffer pads 'just in case'.

Horizontal and glass = asking for drama/shattered dreams

just my 2 cents.....

So far I took some specific "u"-shaped foams from glass repair shop (trash to be honest) to secure the edges.

I do agree horizontal is most dramatic orientation for my "engineering" feeling.

I wish I could to store it under my bed :D but the place is already occupied.

If you are "nervous" go to Home Depot and buy a sheet of insulating foam and pack that around it. Under the bed is great unless you have a wife like mine which means a lot of begging and whining but winning out eventually

If you can't find specific padding, buy a couple of "pool noodles"...the long round foam tubes that kids play with in the water; cut a slit down the length and you are done. Pipe insulation foam also works. Pool noodle shown...

Bert, Power to Home Depot if they made it to Poland.

What I did to make the house safe for kids, Foam piping insulation. It is sliced with adhesive on the sliced edges. You can either use the adhesive or leave the wax paper on it. They can be molded to go the entire windshield perimeter. oh and yes, keep all domestic pets...which includes children, away. Stuff is super cheap also (now I honker down to wait for bfeng to call me cheap...again).

I have shipped a couple of door widows to CA. using regular old fashion insulation. No issues at arrival.

We have such material here as well - only different factory names.

I used the foam from the car glass repair shop. It is original material they are receiving the new windshields for exchange.
It was for free (as laying in a trash) excluding the need to go for it.

The deep curvature is a problem for storage indeed as occupying a lot of volume.
I need to clean up my mezzanine and put it probably there on some foam.

I actually placed one of them on padding on the car's roof. Figure the car is not going anywhere, high up and off the ground.
