Wiring harness

How much time did you invest?
How much money was the kit?
Thanks in advance!

In my 72, the entire gauge cluster/dash lights circuit is actually a separate harness from connector 66. You could rewire the rest of the car and leave this entirely alone merely by wiring the new harness to connector 66.

Just trying to do a cost/time analysis. For $1300 Euros its done for you. Not sure the cost and time of the DIY kit, which intrigues my Do It Myself side.

I think you’ll not spend that much.
Harness cots is 300$

Add some extra wiring, relays cost is 6$ each, you’ll need 8 for windows plus another 2 for other circuits.
Add wiring wiring braid.
could be around $500 all system
I added led lights for the gauge clusters this is cheap at Amazon , but youll have a safe and reliable wiring system.

Its on sale today for $270. I like this approach. Where did you find the relays and other parts?

Relays any car shop, even amazon
This ones I used for the windows (photo). But don’t need to Hella, those are better and more expensive
in the painless relay for horn and turn lights are included
I bougth at painless Fan relay kit.
And the fuel pump relay kit.
Around $30 each.

I’ll try to post all wirings in a week to help anyone

If you order the complete rewired harness make sure they understand the differences between, 2800CS, early 3.0CS, mid 73 3.0CS and finally 74 3.0CS, they are different. The Painless kit looks like it will take a lot of trimming and adding spades, and the color codes are GM so write everything down.

Thanks Chris, Autospark takes your existing harness, removes the ends, and replicates the wiring with new wire and the old ends.
I'm leaning towards Painless for the learning experiance and the new fuse box. If I were restoring to stock, I'd definately go Autospark.
Luckily I have time to decide -

Chris is right, work changing spades an identifying lines, trial and error, is tough. But I’m happy with results
