I have read that the auto driveshaft from a 3HP22 will fit my 72 Bavaria that I am converting from 4 speed manual to 5 speed manual. Anybody have any experience with this? Also, does it make a difference what car it would come out of? I have found one out of an E30.
Would a driveshaft from a 3HP22 work for a 4 speed to 5 speed conversion?

E30 is much shorter I would think, tranny is only part of the equation.

The front portion of the stock auto drive shaft from a Bavaria will work on a 5 speed conversion, but the overlap will not be quite as good as if you shorten a 4 spd front piece to the correct length. I've done it for many years on an e9 with no problems....
