Would like feedback on this E9 listed for Sale

@Tate a new Fjord car was just listed in Texas. I'm not one of the experts here but it seems to have had a $150K restoration a decade ago, then sold for $100K.

That's gonna fetch a penny.

Thanks Minivansomeren - I’ll check it out!

This is a quite personal build. Be sure it is yours too. This viewer is way put-off by the tan vinyl dash, shiter and em brake. The wood is too shiny, too modern, looks nothing like the original. And there is the "speaker delte" found in many of these redone cars. A bit jarring for some of us more experienced coupesters.

As SFDon said, "Do nothing until you get a picture of the tools in the tool kit." Well, there appears to be no tool kit(Clam shell), but there is a tool wrap in the trunk with some tools. Are they original, hard to tell. Are they all there, nope.

If the car only has front lap belts they won't do anything to prevent whiplash and cracking your delicate skull on the dash/windshield.

Again, this is a very personal build, see it in person!!

I haven’t looked 100s of these, like many of you have,… but my first impression is very similar to your thoughts, above.

I like the looks of the original interior - It’s part of the charm.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts & opinions CSteve - Appreciate it.

@CSteve I'm with you 100%. Funny, when I saw the tan interior door cards someone was selling earlier today for $200, I thought "There you go, Tate, pick up those on your path to purchasing the blue car with red interior - they are tan so easier to dye to cognac or black, and you're already 50% of the way towards changing over from the red interior that you didn't like in @HB Chris 's car". That car seems better sorted than this one. Some of these things are understandable. I get why people put in a modern stereo at some point as well as speakers, especially if they were using it as a daily driver. Now with Bluetooth options one can get an older or older-looking stereo but still have modern amenities. The wood "upgrade" does seem like a misguided choice since I, like Tate, appreciate the feel and appearance of vintage wood.

Regarding the Blue/Red E9 - I had a nice long conversation with Chris, where we spoke about that particular e9 (among other things)… & after that - I had a nice long conversation with Don, as well.

Right now, I’m content to sit tight & see what the Market brings. Aside from being a patient person, I don’t need to have one immediately. More of a priority is - Doing this right & once (right car at the right price). In the meantime, I continue to learn (about the cars & the Market for them).

Smart man. I was not quite so patient but at least was lucky enough to have input from some of the knowledgeable people on the forum here. Your approach will find you the perfect vehicle.

I feel pretty lucky finding this place.

Aside from all the feedback & opinions I’ve gotten on the board - Both Chris & Don couldn’t have been more gracious with their time & knowledge.

I’m in a good place, here!

FWIW - This popped in my YouTube feed. Another European E9. Not sure if it’s for sale (didn’t see it in their inventory)…. But thought some here might enjoy seeing it.
