Look for a set of front brake calipers, preferably in perfect condition. Alternatively if anyone knows where to get some new or remanufactured ones in stock, will take that too.

My point, you can probably find E3, not E9 vented, the difference is the spacer and the bolts, which you have if you have the old ones

Thanks - do you know of hand if it is the same ones he would have had from years ago? When. I checked with him before he only had a set in need of heavy rebuild, which I would love to avoid if at all possible. On a side note, Cars and Coffee is back in full swing in case you have not been back yet.

can you get them from rockauto.com or your local auto parts store?

E9/E12/E24 (early) should all be the same.

PMB in Sandy Utah

They do great work

W&N sells the spacer and bolts to go from
solid to vented.

Keep in mind that all 3 versions (early, late and e24) of the front are different sizes and the hardware including the pins and clips are all different.

Interesting, looks like fronts only

Hi Charles - Having moved to SC, I miss Katies.

Spoke to Tom and you are correct. Calipers he has need to be rebuilt.

Further to Don's suggestion, I hear good things about PMB. Very popular with the Porsche guys.

Are rebuild kits available? Seems to me a great solution is to just service the ones from your car. Not difficult, it is economical, and quite rewarding.
I had a pair rebuilt through Jim at Mesa Performance.
More than likely the route I will have to take, but was looking for some in like new condition to match the restoration to be one less thing to do. All signs point to none being in existence, and all the remans I have found (including the ones I bought) are incorrect, and for the earlier 2800cs or E3 with solid discs. The rebuild kits are available, and ironically, I sold the BMW OEM rebuild kit I had.
