My came from Athens this week.

When I was looking, a well known person on the forum suggested I might look at the 4 speed shift platform to see if it could be modified. They are still available, probably longer, and might be worth a try.

We gave up hunting and just have them made.
Mine is all finished and working, but just for interest. As the gear lever is also different do you also produce or modify those?
I managed to buy a used one, but was about to try one of those -30% short shift levers to see if that would work, not because I wanted the short shift, but thought it might be a cheap and easy option.
 
We use vintage 5 speed gearshifts that have the critical distance between ball and joint lengthened and shift rods that have been re-bushed with bronze/silicon and the e36 knuckle. Correct position in shift console with mild short shift.

That second hole actually lines up. I wonder if moving the collar forward to the other hole would work?
