Hi All,

wondering if anyone is breaking up an e9, I would like to put an A/C into a non A/C car - any advice welcome.

Does anyone have - compressor, A/C radiator and all the fans and bits required...

Cheers

What's your timing?

I've got two expansion coils and housings plus some other misc bits. I'll probably take a couple of months to get it all done. I'll sell you the rest, is that too long?

E9 Aircon

I used the system from an E3 parts car. I believe that the evaporator unit, condenser and wiring are the same, but I had to lower the mount which sits on the transmission tunnel.

I was able to cut the holes in the console side trim to take the plastic covers for the air return to the fan, because I didn't think I'd be able to get hold of the slightly differently-sized air conditioner console side trims. The radio is a very tight fit. Also used the E3 additional radiator fan, but a later one would be more effective.

The gas pipes to the evaporator are very close to the pedals (RHD, manual, Australia), and it might be worth investigating reversing the evaporator so they come out on the less crowded passenger side. I still have to have the pipes between the evaporator unit and condenser/compressor made up.

Chris,

I have some A/C parts from various BMs incl orig 2002tii, E3 and E9 that you are welcome to have a look at and see if they suit. PM me if interested.

Being an ebay hoarder over the years, I have accumulated parts and A/C units for eventual installation in my vehicles but fortunately have decided to dismantle the A/C unit from my Auto CS into my manual CS. Only problem is I cannot honestly say which part belongs to which car! :?

I have removed the entire A/Csystem from my E3, it is all available but I have no idea of the functionability of it. The compressor pulley spins freely and condensor evaporator look old but intact. The only thing I retained in my car is the console fan.
LMK if interested, It'll be cheap but the freight won't!
