WTB Chrome Kidney Grill and Working Clock

A company in CA, can't remember the name but could dig it up, rebuilt my clock 20 years ago and it hasn't lost a minute since.

Instument Repair

I would specially request that the face and hands NOT be cleaned or restored so the set continues to match each other (or remove and have the whole set cleaned and restored). It is not particularly easy to buy a replacement that is faded just the right amount to match an an untouched installed set.

Murray is having three silver kidneys polished and will have for sale very soon, send him a PM.

That is interesting, I thought you couldn’t polish those grilles because of the anodizing. Does some shop have a way to remove the anodizing, polish the aluminum and re-anodize it ? If someone can do it he’s probably located in California, you guys are very lucky  to have automotive services that just don’t seem to be available in other states. ~ John Buchtenkirch

Kidney grills--not just polished--

Small dents and nicks can usually be removed by Speedway--the process to restore to better than new goes well beyond polishing.

Anodize is stripped, grill is dis-assembed, polished to a high luster, all surfaces ceramic coated and then re-assembled.

With ceramic coating the grill has a higher luster of finish than before and will sustain considerably greater impact without marking than the original grill--well beyond the original anodized finish.

Having replaced my center grill about every 100,000 miles or more over the years--I will now remove my very, very nice original condition grill and substitute a newly restored one simply because it's an all round superior piece of trim than present. I may now have my un-marked present version restored with the ceramic finish with the more durable, higher luster finish--for the last replacement on BLUMAX--barring a front end nudge of course.
