Hey folks-
I know this is a shot in the dark, but....

Just seeing if anyone here has a driveshaft from a 5 speed E12 (528i) or a E24 (633i) available....
That or if anyone would have a lead on someone that might have one.

(Gathering parts for my 5 speed installation on the CS & have been told these driveshafts drop right in for what I am doing)

Seattle area would be best but depending on condition (and $$ for shipping) - would consider all possibilities.

Thanks-

Kevin,

You can buy rebuilt units with new greasable 'U' joints from an outfit in Portland, OR (Driveline Service of Portland, www.driveshafts.com 503.289.2264) I bought one from them 2 years ago ~$410 after core return. I believe the drive shaft for an automatic CS is the correct length (ie, 3.75" shorter than the manual)

Unfortunately, I have the longer one for the 4 spd. I too am currently swapping in a 5 spd unit. I am planning on having a guy up in Kirkland (Precision Driveshaft) shorten the almost new one I have. I think he can do it. Apparently balancing the two "U" joint shafts is a bit tricky, so not every shop can do it.

Good luck,
