Bimmerboy73 has me excited about fitting E24 rear seats into Coupes with just a bit of effort. Mine are beginning to rot at the seams a bit and I "need" seats horizontal pleats anyway.

Some I'm in the market. Looking for a good to excellent set in black leather preferably.

I think post 74 rear seats have horizontal pleats also. If so, those would be acceptable also.

e24 seats

I have a pair of lotus rear seats, small marks in one seat, make me an offer, ready to get out of storage.

Do you have the rear AC console in Lotus White too?

I've been after one of these for ages for my M6 as they didn't supply them on Euro cars.

There were 3 types of horizontal pleat patterns available on the e24 seats. Early, with 7 pleats, mid, with 5 pleats and late, with 3 pleats (referring to the seat back pleats). So choose the style that closely matches your front seats. Just picked up a pair of 5 pleats seat for my coupe, but have not done the "required surgery" yet. These rear seats match perfectly with the stitching patterns of a pair of "genuine" manual Recaros I picked up recently.

Bert,

Are they all the same size? I just bought a set with the 7 pleat from Ebay last night.

Thanks,
Alvin

It requires some trimming of the protruding contours of the fiberglass or plastic seat bucket material in the backrest. Other than this minor issue, the dimensions are almost identical between the E9 and E24 seats. There is a guy on this board who had done this recently and documented his work, but I can't recall his name at the moment. Do a search and you'll probably come up with something fairly quickly, but I did not have such luck. Maybe some other guys here will remember this member's name and thread.

Tod there is a memeber (repoman) in the 2002faq that sells them from time to time. Also try ebay I got mine last night for $150 + $50 shipping for the complete set including the center console.

Thanks, Alvin.

My main man RonP, who supplied me with my new-to-me front seats, just happens to have a pair of already black leather rear seats so no dyeing needed. They will be mine, all mine.

Alvin,

Again, I just love your red interior on you CSi! What is the name or code of the red leather that was used?

I'm thinking of dyeing a leather interior (either red or black) into my coupe. With so many shades of red dyes available, it's kind of hard to pick out one particular shade of red.

Its not a BMW stock color. It's Porsche Napa leather used in the 993s.

Thanks for the info Alvin! Never been a big fan of the BMW burgundy or Cardinal reds. Have always love the Mercedes red from the 60's and 70's though.
