This is the lower part of the ignition switch. The part with the harness.

As you can see, mine broke. The key will no longer change the electrical positions in the switch.

It's held in place by a single tiny grub screw accessible once the lower steering column cover is removed.

4 wires. Red, black, green, and violet.

It looks like it may be the same switch for an E12 and E24, but the E9 has a different PN.
