Hi, I'm just going to start a list of all the things I need to find for my 72 Bavaria, and I'll be continuously adding to it. If you have something on this list, PLEASE hit me up.

- Crack Free Dash
- Crack Free Windshield
- Windshield Weatherstripping (mine is absolutely shot)
- Hood, mine has rotted out on the front edge and is damaged
- Front Kidneys
- Bavaria Emblem
- Front Floor Mats/Carpet
- Passenger Side Door Weatherstripping, the fabric wrapped one that goes on the chassis, and the one that goes on the bottom edge of the door itself
- Tool Kit (empty, I want to put other things in it)
- Brake stuff, calipers, hard lines, rubber lines, all of it
- M30B35 Swap stuff, like the smaller brake booster and any other components
- Suspension bushings
- Lowering springs/coilovers/air ride, not sure what I want yet, make a deal

I can't think of anything else ATM but yeah it needs a lot of stuff.... if you're anywhere near Milwaukee/Chicago, let me know. I'm like 30 min north of MKE. Cheers!

Welcome! We don't have a lot of E3 owners here, but then there aren't that many anywhere ;)

Get familiar with this site... https://www.realoem.com/ it will help you see how things come apart and go together plus you'll be able to find part numbers to help you locate parts.

Many parts are hard to find and expensive when you do find them. Anything that also fits an E9 is super expensive.

Here's most of the parts sources... https://e9coupe.com/forum/threads/what-are-the-top-sources-for-parts-and-service.33895/

https://www.wallothnesch.com/en/ W&N probably carries the biggest selection of parts for our cars.

Finding a crack free dash is pretty much like finding a needle in a haystack. When you do find one, they are pretty expensive. I had mine recovered. It looks good but not original. Still pretty pricey.

It's my understanding that windshield and rear window weatherstripping are NLA. However small batches have occasionally come on the market. Keep your eyes open.

Try to find a hood close to home. Otherwise the shipping will kill you.

I don't know what you mean by "front kidneys". Do you mean the center grill or the headlight grills? Both are available used. Price will be dependant on condition.

I have an extra Bavaria Emblem. PM me your addy and I'll send it to you.

World Upholstery https://worlduph.com/bmw/classic/e3/ is probably your best source for carpet

W&N has the fabric wrapped windlace...at least for the front doors. I don't know of a bottom of door weatherstripping. The door weather stripping is one piece.

Tool kit boxes are scarce and generally in pretty rough shape and pricey when they can be found. New ones were made several years ago and there are some floating around.

Brake parts and suspension parts are available from vendors on the list above. You'll probably have to make your own hard lines. Check Rock Auto, Napa, and other usual parts sources also.

Good luck with your project!

Hi,

If is there anything which is difficult to be found in US or you do not require to buy new I can check also here.
Of course it is rather limited to smaller parts which can be easily packed and shipped securely.
I see some E3 parts appearing from time to time here.

Just as a backup for you. :)

I'm confident you will be able to collect all part with the Great Team here.

Sometimes it is better to buy new in the end if available.

Keeping for you!

Take care!

As the passengers on the Titanic observed - that's quite a list. Some unicorn stuff there, especially if you expect to find it locally.

As for me -

Dicks list of sources are for sure the go-tos...

the windshield gasket in particular is a nightmare - took me 4 years to find one and just got lucky that someone here found a few on a shelf - I don't believe they've been made since the 90's.

I was able to get brake parts (new front calipers, all new rotors) off the shelf but my understanding is that supply might be dried up so you might want to rebuild what's on there if possible

For odds and ends NLA trim bits I've had some luck here - https://double02salvage.com/

I was able to source a decent quality windshield (but 4 years ago) here www.prosourceglassintl.com

Wow, amazing responses, you guys seem to have a great community here, happy to be apart of it and I can't thank you enough!
And yeah, big list, car is a total trainwreck that hasn't moved under it's own power since 1981 sometime. I don't NEED all this stuff, but I definitely need a windshield and windshield gasket in order for the car to even have a chance of being a car again. I figured I could rebuild most of the brake components or use something from another car, idk yet.

Also, I may or may not have purchased an M30B35 an hour north of Milwaukee for $400, with ECU and harness. Stay tuned!

There are two windshield gaskets. Both will fit the body and the windshield, but each takes slightly different aluminum trim. If you have the trim, you'll want the early style gasket for your '72 MY car. The trim is a necessary part of the installation.

Windshields are available from W&N but a good glass shop that does vintage car installations may be able to find you one in the US. Used ones are tough to find and expensive to ship.

I have a near very, very nice set of consoles with air conditioning vents included are you interested? I bought them very early on when I had my first e9, the ebay ad said it was for an e9 but it ends up it's for an e3. It was about a year before I tried to put them on. Let me know.

my Sigla windshield, incl shipping from Oregon to Chicago, was $500 if that's useful, I think the glass co I use doesn't stock them directly but had a number of contacts they reached out to
