Mine's bent. I'm converting my manual windows to electric and the assembly in my parts door is bent somehow. I thought about trying to fix it but came to my senses. Anyone have one they'd sell?

I tried to fix a bent one, and failed. It would not rotate much after it was straight.
I have a straight case with no nylon gear if want it for free. Easy to tap out the metal spline & reinstall. PM your address & I'll send it.
"Easy to tap out" So you tap the shaft out from the nylon gear side? I see the splines. I'll try fixing it first and if it doesn't work I'll contact you. Thanks!

You reminded me... A friend has his own shop that he fixes/flips salvage vehicles out of. He has about eight hammers hanging on his wall from small to very large. One day I labeled all of them with labor rates... the smallest one was $100/hr, all the way to the largest one at $5/hr.
A nail set, with the external gear over an open vice & smack with a hammer a couple times & it will come out. Then to reinstall use the vice as a press with a small piece of pipe to seat the nylon gear properly. I've done this several times.
Didn't see your post until after I already did it but it worked! I tapped the shaft out on the vise and used a large socket to pound the bent housing back level. I had to install the nylon gear a few times to check for level and hit the housing from both sides to get it completely flat and aligned. All back together and the gear moves very smoothly. Thanks for all the support!
On a side note, I tested the sardine can motor on the bench and it was noisy and slow. After spraying the entire insides with contact cleaner and spraying the shaft journals with silicone lubricant the motor is quiet and spins about three times as fast as it did the first time. The window motor cleaning/lubricating should be a maintenance item.
this sounds encouraging. how long do you think the silicone lubricant will keep the shaft lubed before needing to be redone? we all know the grease hardens and is problematic ... and removing, cleaning is not a fun job. out of curiosity, what silicone lubricant did you use?
It wasn't thought out. I had some WD-40 brand silicone spray on the shelf so I figured it was better than nothing. Based on how often my coupe gets driven and the windows operated it may last a long time. I need to fix some bad door panel fasteners on the drivers door so I think I'll clean up that motor while it's off. What would you suggest I use?
