I need to replace a lost fender grille on my white 73 3.0. They are currently chromed plastic but should they be black?

Can be either one, tranny has nothing to do with it. I'd go with chrome or whichever you think contrasts better with the color.

Hi;
I have a set of used ones that had three broken pins on the backside that holds them on the fenderrs. I replaced with plastic studs that are glued into holes that i drilled. I can send photos if you give me your email. $35 each.

I'm with Stan - black to my eyes stands out and looks great on light colored cars (white, silver, etc.) Silver stands out and looks great on darker cars (Nachtblau, black, Granitrot, etc.). I changed the blacks out on my 'nearly Granatrot' car to silver - my eye likes it better. Ohmess put those blacks on his pearl white car, and they look great there.

I prefer chrome regardless of color. Matches the trim and all other other chrome parts on the car. On a light car, it needs the black sticker behind it to show up better.

I like the fact that we can actually make a choice due to our own preference and still be original. I agree with Rob about the black blinds on the light car with the chrome grille.
