so you're running 2 filters, the metal one and a clear one so you can see any crap coming up from the tank?

Yes, for now. The car has died on me twice and I dont know why, so Im trying to make sure the fuel supply is fine. Once Im confident I dont have an issue with the fuel, Ill do a better job hiding all this extra stuff--probably remove the clear unit.
Very old thread.... but I was doing some research on fuel filters and came across this thread.
People were asking where to attach the fuel filter. I remember seeing a pretty slick installation on PhilippeDB's car in Brussels. Not on the firewall but to the intake manifold.
