I hope its ok to post this here ?

I am going to an electric fuel pump as my mechanical one seems to be erratic and overwhelming the needle on my 32/36 webers. Does anyone here make fuel pump block off plates ?

I seem to remember that it came up somewhere, but cannot find it now.

Also open to any input, or suggestions. I get smoke on start up and the after incresed RPM, also, stopped at stop signs............all inconsistent and not able to duplicate.

P.S. I live in Berkeley and there is a new to the scene, dark blue Euro style CSi driving around making me jealous of his fuel injection !

I think he lives near my brother in Piedmont....Nice car !

i just made one from a steel plate - drilled holes and made a gasket screwed it down
can take a pic if needed

Exact same as an air cooled VW, fuel pump block off plate. All over the web $10-$20

You know, I have to admit I was having trouble with my mechanical fuel pump some years ago too. Also running dual 32/36s. At the end of all the frustration, I installed a new Pierburg, a check valve, and reset both carburettors using the easily available setup instructions found on-line. I felt much more comfortable with these carbs after all of this. They are not that complicated, and you can find the parts that commonly fail quite readily. If you are dead set on adding an electronic pump and setting that up and finding peace, well good luck, that may just work out. But my point is, your problem may still be the carbs themselves. Whatever you decide, I hope it works out. Mike
