Nether of mine work, I got the electromagnets to step up to the plate but the diaphragms are shot. I have BMW horns but they are from and E24 and Flamm, not Hella, I will buy straight out, trade, whatever. Trying to stay as OEM as possible on my resto.

I have a hi/low (335hz and 400hz) black Hella from a 2002....part #61331367309/10...(from real oem site)..see below.

The horn listed for a 72 cs is not the same number, so I assume they are different? Anyone know for certain? PM if you have any interest.
Bought from an 02 buddy that said they came off of his car and worked, one I cleaned some, the other not...I didn't test them...I bought the red ones off of the internet maybe 10 years ago to use instead. Currently still have the single "twerpy" in my 02...time for the change, glad you brought this up as I almost had forgotten about it...

Hi bavbob, I was trying to revive one just yesterday, how do you get the electromagnets to work?

There is a metallic arm and resin board part that is one piece, the arm should have motion relative to the board and there is a small contact between them. You can slipan emory board in there and clean the contacts. If you need to, that hole part comes out but you have to clear that resin plug on the outside of the horn and there is a phillips head screw under there. If you remove the whole thing, it is easy to put back together despite that intimidating spring which actually has no tension on it at rest. Note that the small red and gold wires to the coil may be broken and it can be hard to tell.

bavbob I’ll swap you horns if it will help your restoration. My car is a ‘74, left one works fine, right one doesn’t work but has a good diaphragm so maybe you can put it together with your good electromagnet part. My car is not going to any shows so that pair of red horns would work fine for me. PM me if you would like to trade.
