WTB: Ivory early model (1970 2800 CS) speedometer

Great that saves me from having to dig through my stuff for the speedometer.

I understand the ivory now. I looked at mine and can see the ivory numbers and needle. I replace my clock and it must be a later one. It has white numbers and needle. I got my original clock working. I guess it is time to install it, so everything matches. I didn't notice the difference before. Now, it will bother me.

I had no idea about the ivory numbers for early model vs white numbers for late model until someone mentioned it to me on this forum. I'm happy to have a period correct cluster!

excellent ... glad you got it figured out
Thank you, me too.

I was able to piece together two speedo clusters that I had. I was also able to save the healthy/undamaged 10 tooth small gear in the transmission and transfer it to the appropriate gear set. Everything buttoned up great and I checked my speed with that app to verify accuracy. It's dead accurate at all speeds with no bouncing of the needle. I learned that the early model transmission has smaller pitch in various gears while the later model cluster/transmission has larger. Not by much but a noticeable difference in which early and late model items are not interchangeable.
