WTB: manual swap clutch and brake pedals

This was my only reference to fabricate my own. I found it somewhere on this forum.

That’s my photo of a set I sold a few years back. 73 e3 pedals.
Mesa sells a kit with later clutch master and hoses needed to adapt it to e9/e3.

I checked with realoem for e3, e23, and e32 and the cylinder diameter listed for them is the same, 19.05mm
Also, the same diameter for the slave cylinder 22.20mm
I will be using a slave cylinder from the e32
And it is the only one available as well.

Funny, I am putting an E12 clutch M/C into a 72 3.0cs right now and in order to have the filler hose at the top or close to it, you have to rotate the new M/C and now the holes to bolt the cyl on do not line up. The y will line up but then the filler tube is on the side, not too good. Also , there is a small flange around the clutch M/C opening that will interfere with the new M/C. ( if you want the filler to be on the top ) I had to grind about an 1 1/2 " of this flange away. No way to fi a drill in there to make 2 new mounting holes ( unless , you have a small 90 degree drill that will fit in there ) I ended up making a small adapter flange that would allow me to bolt the clutch M/C to the adapter and then bolt the whole thing into the car Aliso had to grind a little from the top r side of the clutch M/C flange so it would clear the pin for the accelerator linkage

I will see if I can get some pictures of what I did

If anybody has done something else. let me know, this was a real PITA to do.

Thanks, Rick

Here are some pictures and you can see the difference between the 2 cylinders I made the adapter plate up and used tapered machine screws and countersunk the holes so everything would be flush.

Thanks, Rick

Rick, i have the same problem with the mc filler opening to the side. Haven’t gotten to it yet. It is good that you were able to address this issue.
If you can share pics that would be great.
Thanks!

A elegant solution! When I did the Malaga coupe years ago I just tapped the flange flat with a piece of wood and a small dead blow hammer. I think I bent or shortened the metal pipe to fit.
