my oil fill cap has an old, hardened gasket ring and doesn't seal as well as it should.
allows oil to trickle out (minimal, but annoying) over top of valve cover and onto the manifold (only when doing long highway runs above 3500RPM or so).
I know what you're thinking, and yes, I've eliminated the valve cover gasket as the suspect.
Is this common (for older fill caps to not seal properly)?
Looking to buy a NOS or used one THAT SEALS. Not looking to buy the same old deteriorated part that I already have.
I know it's not a hard-to-find part, but wanted to make sure that whatever I bought fit properly.
Any suggestions?
