Looking for my last exterior belt trim piece. See pic. I found the passenger side door trim piece, now I just need the trunk piece. See pic. I saw a damaged one on Ebay, if there is a better one please let me know. Thanks! Needs to have rubber gasket attached. I actually just need the rubber insert but can not find just the rubber.

Trunk or quarter panel?

Just to clarify, you're looking for the piece for the rear quarter panel, right? The beltline trim on the Bavaria does not continue all the way around the back of the car onto the trunklid, as on the 3.0S/Si; rather, the pieces on the quarter panels come to a tapered end at the rear corners. For this reason, pieces from a 3.0S/Si won't fit (also, I think the clips are in different places for some reason).

These pieces, especially with good plastic, are a PITA to find, other than the rear doors, which you can still get from BMW. I just checked to see if I had an extra, and I don't - sorry.

Rsporche - I am getting the rear passenger door piece from him and some other parts but like corvair kid pointed out nicely is the trim is different on the earlier models. He described it perfect. So if anyone has a 73' or older rear passenger side trunk belt trim piece with the smaller taper that is what I need. Like in the picture where it is missing. Rear door piece is on the way. Thanks for heads up though. There are a lot of nice pieces on the SI that he is parting out.

Could Speedway Metal Polishing fix the ebay trim? They did an amazing job on the nose trim on Athena when she rolled down the driveway and into the woods. Damaging the trim and crinklng the nose. VSR and Mario Lanston's crew did an amazing job repairing the damage. Cannot tell any errant offroading ever happened.

Right now I don't really need the trim fixed, I will eventually, I just need the back belt trim piece that goes along the trunk. Thanks for the 411 though, keep that in mind. Carl didn't have the piece I'm looking for and after a couple attempts at reaching the guys at CoupeKing I am giving up on them. So, Monday bump...no not to 80's terminology for bump...jeeze. LOL See clouded area on picture of car. Rear Passenger door piece is on the way, only one elusive trim piece left, needs to be from a 73' or newer Bavaria or 3.0. 74' may work I would need you to send a pic.

I sent Peter S. an email through the Coupeking site and he was back to me within the end of the day.

Goood luck with your search, you'll find it.

Yay my 1,001st post.

Rear quarter trim.

Hi;
If you can wait a few weeks I have thousands of listing for BMW parts and I know I have a source for what you are looking for.
The problem is I had back surgery on July 9th and after being home for four weeks I came down with a deep infection and had a redo on the surgery on August 12th and am now in a facility receiving 22 more days of anti biotics by IV. I am very disorganized and if I ask my wife to find what I need it could end up her getting frustraded trying to find the paperwork I need.
Thanks
Koopman

You need t tell your doctor to prescribe home IV antibiotic therapy. There are 5 companies in MA who do that

Koopman,

My best wishes for successful treatment of the infection AND recovery from the back surgery.

My wife has had 5 spinal column surgeries in the past 2 1/2 years, and still has significant back, leg, and arm pain. After the surgeon and associates gave up, about a half dozen at least other docs have not found any relief. She - like most who have back surgery - had not choice, as unstable vertebrae could have resulted in paralysis if she'd fallen or had a moderate whiplash injury.

Hope you are fully recovered soon.

Koopman. Get well. Thank you for posting. I'm not in a total hurry so if I find one in meantime I will post. If not then I will wait until you are better. Take care of yourself first! Thank you!!

So I need to bump this ad unfortunately. I have found the rear passenger door belt trim piece and found a later E3 Passenger side trunk piece from a 3.0S/Si but I need the piece for 73' or older (74 may work, some of you may chime in on that). But I don't think 75 or 76 works. I ended up buying a later model piece from Chris but really do not want to cut to fit. Surprisingly the clips are in same place so it will work in that regard, but will be very difficult to have it look correct, especially working the end that gets cut and the rubber will never be perfect no matter how good a job I do. Easier and proper to keep searching for the correct piece. I have a trim piece for it that is correct, but missing the all important rubber and it is banged up quite a bit. So if anyone has this it is the last piece of the puzzle for me in regards to the exterior. Thanks for trying to help.

So I apologize for confusing anyone on this request, it wasn't until talking to Macha today that I realized I I was asking for belt trim along passenger trunk. It is not on the trunk it is on the passenger side rear quarter panel. In my head I thought it was on the actual trunk. So sorry about that. I am hoping BMW Chris has the piece from his 74 Bavaria that should fit. I will close out this request if I get it from him, until then I am still looking.

Thanks and my apologies! I know it is still in title of thread but I can't edit that.
