Hi guys,

I keep gyrating with my fan options, I know, I know... Recently bought an 8-blade red fan with a through-the-hole bolt-on fan clutch from a forum member but I am now moving to a spin-on water pump/clutch combo so I'm searching for a nice 9-blade red fan.

This is what I'm looking for:

Anyone have one that you're willing to sell? I will have the bolt-on clutch and red 8 blade for sale if someone is interested in a trade/swap.

Hi @Luis A. ,

Funny timing. I recently decided to stay true to form with my CSL tribute. I have the fan that you need. What is the going rate?

Just snapped these...

I have an original red fan but there are some small fractures at the base of the fan that would cause a disaster upon exploding in the bay. Be sure to check for those cracks. I relegated mine to garage wall art.
I also recently used SEM Color Coat Flexible Coating Flame Red 15373 on an original good red 9 blade fan and a new black 9 blade fan. They both turned out spot on to the red of the original red fan color. On the black one it was a bit harder to cover the black so I used the SEM Flexible primer and that turned out to make the difference on the opacity.

Regards, Jon

Thanks for the tip @Ives! I’ll look over mine before I sell it.

Okay @Ives and @Luis A. ,

I checked my fan. There are two molded divets where the steel structure is exposed. Each side has a hairline crack. Personally I think it is a non-issue and all of the 35yo fans have this crack. The entire plastic fan blade is molded around the steel skeleton. I am almost certain that the plastic also flows through holes in said skeleton for added strength.

The plastic near the crack is about 3mm thick and appears to provide no value. Certainly worth consideration for any buyer. Maybe another doesn’t have it.

Nothing on the clutch side:

I confirmed with a couple of different magnets that the steel skeleton does a 90 degree bend and the fan blades butt up against it. So everything except the blades are steel wrapped in plastic.

Luis,

I have one with and one without the clutch. Both seem to be in excellent condition. IF you get this far down and still uncertain, send me a PM with your email address and I'll send pix. I don't need to fill this thread up with more pictures, I don't believe.
