Spend the last week tracking down a short (actually a broken ground) that caused my right rear turn signal bulb to stay dark but the brake light to flash when I put on the turn signal. Fun time was had by all! Ready to button up the repair but the tail light gasket crumbled in my hand. Anyone have one (or a set) available for sale?

I have a roll of U shaped rubber I used on my coupe. It's not the BMW part number but works.

Your welcome to use it if interested, cost would be a few dollars on top of shipping.

i have used the Steel rubber for the light cover (U shape) and it works quite well. part number 70-3597-99 is the closest. it has a 'barb' on one side that i find helps to hold it in place. The CS Werk piece is very similar and used to be a little less expensive for the part. shipping to the USA would be more ...

Do you use it for both, bulb holder and lens ? Would be interesting to see what it looks like after installation. The original is soft foam rubber that hugs the contours very well…. This looks quite thick in the pic.
no, just the bulb holder. as you know, the piece around the lens is a flat piece of soft foam rubber (gasket) that fits into the slot on the lens.

Finally found what I used from McMaster.

well that's a lot less expensive than the Steele product. snap a pic of one of your bulb holders so we can see how it turned out.

Will try to take a pic soon, I'm out of town this week. It was a little clumsy to assemble because the rubber didn't want to stay on, a little adhesive to hold it would do the trick.
