What about the lower one near the exhaust? What do people do about that one?

Paul,
both BMW / W+N sell the BMW part for the upper firewall piece and the smaller lower firewall piece. W+N and BMW sell the BMW upper piece and CS Werke sells one of their own. the CS Werke part is probably not good enough for a concours car as it doesn't match the BMW part. i would buy the upper part from BMW or W+N

unfortunately W+N doesn't have both pieces for the lower firewall only the small piece (of the 2 lower pieces). CS Werke has both of the lower pieces of their own design. i will tell you that the CS werke big piece and the W+N / BMW small piece don't fit together quite right. i have both of those pieces and i can assure you of that fact. i can also assure you that the CS Werke pieces do not look completely correct for a concours car ... but perfect for a restored drivers car

so here is an idea for consideration - as i mentioned, i have the new BMW part for the small piece on the lower firewall. if you are doing a concours car and want to swap a small piece from CS Werke for a new BMW small piece, i am happy to do that with you.
