WTB: wheels

I'm looking to buy a set of wheels. I'm in the bay area but willing to drive to pick them up.

I know about coupekings alpina replicas which look great. Looking to see if anyone is selling any real alpinas or something else before I buy the coupe king ones. I'm open for BBS or anything else out there. Except stock of course haha

Ideally they are 15-16in, ok if scuffed up a bit I will send off to get redone

haha i just like hoarding parts. kidding but only kind of. I did just purchase one! I saw it last weekend. Chris Macha also graciously checked it out beforehand. I just started a thread on it. https://e9coupe.com/forum/threads/73-3-0-cs-thread.35350/

He sent me over some images to me and i agree, they are spectacular! I'm still a sucker for the alpinas. I wonder if there are color combos that work better with one or the other. Don't want the rims to look out of place.

taken a look at a decent amount of e9 pics with different wheels.

i feel like in order to pull off the shiny BBS wheels, the vents need to be aluminium vs plastic. and the rest of the aluminium trim needs to be 100%. on the other hand alpinas go well with the understated colors like but for flashier colors like turkis it's kind of too dull haha.

ah i see, so either way the vents are plastic. Are the chrome looking ones covered in shiny spray? or is it like a film?

i'm all about turkis and nachtblau at the moment. turkis is growing on me more and more daily.

They are chromed plastic. Good luck with your restoration.

I have a friend in Atlanta that told me he had 4 sets of BBS wheels. I will check with him and see what flavors they are.
He is a previous E9 owner so probably good for coupes.
