I have noticed in a few pictures of other coupes that I might be missing a critical piece of weatherproofing. Part #11 in the attached picture appears to be a moulding that is not on either of my windows. Does anyone know if these would of been on the early US 69 windows? Are they rubber or metal? Does anyone have a set they are willing to part with? It does look like Max has them or that they are still available, but I'm afraid the new might stick out as a little shiny compared to the rest of my trim.

Hi,

this part closes the gap between the window and the rubber seal and ....
.... looks nice as it is a u-profiled metal chrom trim. I only know E9s having this piece sitting on the front window and don't think, that early 69er coupes were different at that point.

Should be possible to find some used ones. Even I should have some of those, I guess (not that sure) - but I'm located in Germany.

Where does it go?

Does the piece fit onto the top of the glass itself via an adhesive or compression or does it fit onto the top of the door frame? I've seen a couple of high-res pictures of coupes with the windows half rolled down and it just looks like there is nothing but glass on the top of the window. Understood this is only on the front windows. I'm so afraid of my rear windows that I don't even have the switches hooked up.

That trim is stuck on with adhesive. One of mine decided to let go on the freeway, luckily it was the driver's side and I noticed it and caught it before it became road-litter. Until I get around to glueing it back on, my car is half-guilty.
