you want the kit with the new gasket and new spacers. do you really need the metal disc or can you just repaint yours?

The part should be zinc plated. This is mine with a "blue" / bright chromate finish which I think is correct. Same finish on the hood latch.
And with proper clear zinc m6 bolts as well! One of the few fasteners that aren’t yellow zinc.

i just didn't buy clear zinc ... i gotta buy more. i did buy some pieces in stainless - especially for really exposed pieces - stuff that mounts in chrome

Mine did have a black paint layer on the large disc, but I think it was a PO "refresh"at soem point, the entire engine bay was black also. I chose to return it to it's original Zinc plated form.

What are the spades for?
No clue. I actually never really registered that they make no sense there. They weren't connected to anything.

looks like you are missing one of the nylon washers at that location.
