XXX-BMW license plates

I was watching a recent episode of Roadkill Garage and looks like Steve Dulcich has one of those 1970 California blue plates from BMWCCA?

At least I think that’s what it is…when I bought 2270012 it came with 306-BMW which I still have.

They came from the DMV but the CCA most likely tipped off its members that a local DMV office had them. The other theory is that the dealers knew where they were and got them for their best customers, back them the dealer would take care of plates not the buyer.

Would be nice to get a hold of that plate before it becomes part of an air cleaner or a floor patch.
