y'know, if they're taking really long, there are probably a lot of amps rooting around in there, getting sweaty, heating things up and looking for a way out.

Remove, disassemble, clean, re-lube, reassemble, clean/lubricate/align window tracks...

Nothing is too hard for the guy who doesn't have to do the work.
 
When you plan busines travel and an integral part is who can you meet from the E9 board for a beer and to examine their car while you are there!
 
Only Wicked Witch of the West is more susceptible to water, but not by much.

Rain, rust and salt are 4 letter words.

Despite all you know about their problems and design flaws, you still bought one, or two or more.

Your E9 gets more attention than the Ferrari 330GTC parked next to it at the service shop, true story.
 
When my wife and I discuss a possible relocation to a different state and she half-jokingly asks "will the coupe like being there?"

When your greatest fear is that when you die your wife will sell your e9 for what you told her it cost you.
 
When you see another coupe, no matter how immaculate, and imagine snaking a fiber optic camera and light source up under the front fenders to check for rust
