Hello all!
The day is here. I will be heading up to Tracy, California from Los Angeles this Friday. I've always dreamed about owning a CS, and with the love and support of my beautiful wife the day has come.
I found the car after a long hunt through CSI Inc. I have known Ben for sometime, I know he has had his issues with other members. He mentioned the car on Monday when I stopped by to pick up some sway bar brackets for my 2002. He told
me about the car and it was within my budget.
Ideally I wanted a manual, but I planned in converting the 4 spd to a 5 spd. I will convert this car as soon as I gather the parts.
The car is the exact color I wanted, which is rare when hunting for a classic.
Here are some details:
1971 2800CSa
Auto tranny from a 635csi
Zenith Carbs, includes a set of down draft Webers
Polaris on blue leather
Very minimal rust,'supposedly limited to surface trunk on trunk lid
Passenger side mirror
Strong engine with later head
Owned for 30 years, 2nd owner
Air Conditioning, needs recharge
$15,000 bough the car. I think this a great deal for such an original car.
I have not seen the car in person, so if it turns out to be a bucket of **** I will refuse pick up. I plan on borrowing an X5 just in case I need to tow it home.
