I can't find this part in the diagrams - the rubber ring that goes into the part attached to the PS bracket that protects the positive batt cable. Anyone have the part number or one for sale? Thanks.

This is also interesting for me since my soon is falling apart completely, I guess it's now 50% rubber and 50% glue :-)
I think though a rubber grommets with correct size from any car part dealer would be as good as anything since it's no special design on the "original".

This is what I have.....is it mounted incorrectly or is it different by year? It's always been like this.

Isn't that bracket attached to the dip stick tube and not the PS bracket?

No it's my starter solenoid relay. I gues the clip was lost somewhere along the way and the PO bolted it to the PS clamp. Thanks for looking.

I learn something about these cars everyday!

There is a clip that fits around dipstick tube, your bracket mounts to that. Is that your fog lights relay?

i looked through my stuff and i don't seem to have one. there's not one on my car either. probably when the engine was changed it was removed.

My '76 E3 has a bracket on the dipstick for the battery cable and a different bracket (seen here without the grommet installed; same grommet on both) on the PS reservoir for the coolant overflow tube:

My E9 has the bracket on the dipstick only, for the battery cable:

The challenge is getting a sample to copy.
I doubt my coupe has one....
Perhaps that rusty yet complete parts car in Canada....
