Hi all, my name is Mark and I am a caraholic.... and new to this forum. I debated putting this under Classifieds or New Members but ended up here (Hope that is ok) Anyway I am here joining the current throng of E9 hunters looking for a car to buy. I live in Carlsbad near San Diego. Not new to BMW as I have had at least one as a daily driver since the early 80's some modern some more classic like 2002's and an 2800CS. Didn't hurt that I was in the BMW parts business for a lot of that time, first as a counterman then a 10 year stint as a Parts Manager at a large Dealer. Currently driving a 03 540.
I have been watching Ebay and Craig's list for cars which now seems to be dominated by the car flippers and shady dealers. I am not looking for a garage queen or investment grade car. What I am after is at the way other end of the spectrum ($5k-$15K depending on condition). I would like to find preferably a 3.0 that could be a daily driver with some work, doesn't necessarily need to be running, moderate rust is acceptable (except the shock towers and minimal floor pan issues)...
If any of you know of a car for sale outside the usual channels of Ebay and Craigs List, please PM me and if it works out there could be a bottle or case or ? in your future.
Any help or additional input is appreciated. I look forward to actually contributing once I get a car.
Thanks in advance and Cheers
