2800cs + 3.0cs - badge dimensions

Well, it looks like Mark has loaded a definitive answer to this question. Since I took my measurements (sans micrometer), I'll go ahead and share them with 2 pics.

- 2800 down to trunk edge (measured at the midpoint bottom of the badge): 7/16 inch
- 2800 across to C: 7/8 inch
- C across to S: 7/16 inch
- S across to side trunk edge (measured from the bottom right corner of the S): 3/4 inch

I guess you non-US folks can do the metric conversions. Looks like I could use some detailing under the trunk lid.

one more request. what is the dimension from the bottom of the trunk (edge) to the bottom of the roundel?

I got a measurement of 1.16" or 29.47 mm from the bottom of the roundel mount, to the edge of the trunk.
From the edge of the trunk to the center of the pins is 2.554", or 100.55 mm.

The underside of my trunk lid doesn't look anything like dbower's. I've cleaned it up a bit in photoshop to make it easier to see the holes.

Thanks for all the measurements! Your observation about the 'S' explains why it is off. My car was hit from the rear in the 80's, which is probably when it flipped. Your car seems to have a nicely aligned badge with clearly visible post holes. We needed a third opinion since the first two had caveats.

Funny I just realized that only the 2800 CS had stand alone 'C' and 'S' letters, or that they are attached to one another on the 3.0. Perhaps I should buy the stand alone ones before they are NLA also.

Mark, one of them already is NLA, i think its the C. while i was at it, i drew the dimensions that Chris gave me a while back for the 3.0cs (on a pic of his car) as well as the 2800cs badge on Don's car

Since this is taking on the looks of something official, I guess I should state that I am not the original owner of my 2800 CS so I cannot guarantee that the trunk lid has never been damaged. I don't see any signs of previous repairs or replacement, but it might be best if some original owner out there stepped up with a pic.

if somebody comes us with different dimensions, i can correct the drawing. the good news is that i also used some of the dimensions from Markos' dimensions and also checked the dimensions o the actual NOS badge that i have.

Regarding NLA on the separate C and S: I wonder if you could get the attached CS badge for the 3.0 and carefully cut them apart. Are they the same size as the 2800 parts? I assume the posts are different so you'd need to tape them on.

i have both pieces and will take pics of them tomorrow. the problem is the joined ones have a line at the bottom that would take some work to get apart and clean up to be able to look good buy itself.

the 2800 and the C are NLA. you can still buy the S. my advice is to find a decent used one and have it polished up / ceramic coated. the posts will be rotten away, so you can double stick them on. i will look to see if i still have a used set.
