Orange diagnostics cap/ cover

It does work on the M30s and it also can be connected to an AFR signal.
Here is the latest postings on the Tunebox https://www.bmw2002faq.com/forums/topic/247596-gauging-interest-in-tune-box-run/#comments
I never knew it works on 6 cyl motor, that is good news. Too bad I used the red power there for my lo beam relay! The Tune box reads voltage, dwell and rpm only as well as starting motor while never turning ignition key so all other accessories remain off. It is a great tool.

There are 2 wires coming out of the square black unit that plugs into the coil. One to the distributor as usual, one inductor wire to plug wire #1. It also somehow connects to the port so the technician could read timing by plugging into it. My friend's Tii still has this so i will look into it and see if it is similar.

Motronic wiring harnesses use that same wire Steve. Where does the other end attach?

It appears the 2nd wire from the coil goes to the bracket/socket where another wire comes off that with the inductive loop to the plug wire.
