1972 Oldenzaal/Hemmings CSi

If you are going to use under hood stickers, at least put them in the proper location. And why do they insist on painting wheel wells and underside black?

I mean, compared to some of the fluff pigs that have sold on BaT in the last year, this looks quite reasonable and nice. I'd like to see more in-process photos but the average buyer probably isn't as picky. White and blue is a lovely combo as well.

Nice color combination! Wish mine was so nice already.

Toolt ray is not soo perfect and complete as they claim. I spot 2 missing items, are 3 incorrect ones....But then again I would be a very proud man (boy?) with this car.

regards,

i'm always amazed how they do it... they have a restored coupe , perhaps not every week , but sure every month. :)

Chris--You're gonna hate my car!!! The shop sprayed black chip-guard on the entire underneath body and in the wheel wells. But I don't drive the car upside down and the top side looks pretty nice.....:)
Me too, I have an Exxon Valdez worth of black undercoat on my car from the dealer I suppose. But it has kept lady rust at bay pretty well so no complaints from me.

Actually they don't insist, they will paint them as the customer wishes. Not everyone wishes to have body colour under the car..

They left the factory with a greyish undercoating. What seems unclear is whether US cars wheel wells were painted in body color as opposed to Euro cars……
Few examples…….

Thanks for sharing, the grey bottoms looks sharp and paints a better picture for resale transperancy of the components. My car is not anywhere (gratuitous to even type  ) close to concourse, but we always obsess over these dumb details. I said I would never, but here i am. Lol.

This is the ‘recommended’ product, closest to the original….. 8 cans would do the job for 2 coats to include the wheel wells.
Info thanks to the German E9 site.
