I found the molded end of my coil wire has become detached and I am having a really hard time finding a replacement. Any help would be much appreciated. I can find replacement with straight ends but I really would like that 90 degree fitting on the diz end

have you checked with somebody like Carl Nelson? <edit - 2002haus deleted>

Looks like Kingsborne no longer sells direct because their website redirects to Walker auto parts. Another vendor bites the dust. They definitely used to sell right angle plugs.

Is it the Motronic style with the one-time snap pin, removable round pin or threaded?
Can you disconnect wire from 90 degree end without damaging wire?
Early small or later large diameter cap connection.
Have a box of assorted ends, although recall most were blue from BMW

I may have my old one, will check..........all my wires are Kingsborne 8mm so it's sad if NLA, nice product priced fairly.

I am not quite sure I know enough to answer your questions. I do now realize I have not given enough information. I have a 73 CS and this is the coil to distributor wire. The wire has molded ends and the straight end that goes into the coil has come off. Replacing the set with straight ends at the distributor doesn't seem to leave enough room under the hood. It also doesn't look as nice as the 90 degree ends.

Not sure what you mean by small or large cap connection. Are you referring to the size of the cap? I ordered new cap and rotor and received too small rotor and cap. Too small by almost an inch in diameter. So was there a smaller distributor in earlier cars? I never thought I would feel so uninformed about a simple tune up for a car.

Have you tried snipping the end of the exposed wire and reattaching the boot? They’re design to be removable.

I think I may have panicked before I should have. I think the last wire set I bought was before my kids stopped doing what I told them to do.. Looking at the wire that I have I thought that there was a mechanical connection inside the boot. What the connection seems to be is just a copper pin stabbing the wire. Is this what I should expect? My wire is 16 inches long

The correct set is 12121705716 for a original coil.

You may have a later coil (Motronic)

Post a pic of the inside of the "tower" on your coil.

Back when, the wire was screwed onto the end, which had a small wood screw like protrusion inside (which is visible when apart).
Your picture looked like later manufacture, which could use a round snap pin. Can you unscrew the wire and end from each other?
Bosch, Beru, Bremi are typically fitted, and they should have a part number on them which would make things easier.
Presume you want matching 90 degree connectors at the cap.
Can you post close ups of the separated wire and end showing both ends of the 90?

Do you have original distributor or later 80's Motronic with just a "spark pointer"? If the latter, early were small diameter towers and later large diameter towers.
Then there's round tubes (original) and square tubes that the wires run inside of.

I know it's been a few days since I started this post but life gets in the way. I suspect that I do not have an original distributor in my car. No points and I parts I order do not fit. here are 2 pictures of an ordered cap and the cap that is on my car. Not the same obviously. Now I just need to figure out what I have and order accordingly. I am still struggling with the plug wire and I hope to educate myself about that along the way. Hope these photos are not too big

Early distributors were small diameter then they went to larger diameter on later model cars
Almost visible in your pictures is the Bosch number you need for reference 1 235 522 060 or 053 respectively.
Latter/larger points type uses internal condenser or a "star" and coil for electronic version.
The Bosch number for your 90 degree connector is also visible on picture.

Thank you. My education continues
