Custom removable wireless cell phone holder and battery pack for the coupe

That seems like it would border on blasphemy anyway!!

Why not just keep your phone nearby and use Siri voice commands with a Bluetooth connection to the stereo/handsfree system?
I plan to use the stand more for directions than Bluetooth control. This option allows me to leave the stand in the glovebox and only pull it out when needed.

Georgia tends to frown on picking up a phone and looking at it. the gauge cluster is the Alpina plate and has 3 VDO series 1 gauges with white needles and chrome rings. kinda want to be able to see them. that being said, it would be nice to be able to control music / phone and be able to use WAZE or google maps when traveling. i like the idea of this mount and being removable but over the long haul, you might also want to be able to charge the phone while using it - especially with WAZE.

i will probably be installing my dash in the next week so i can start to play with it to find an idea.

The beauty of this stand that Bo designed is that the actual support for the phone is a magsafe battery pack so you get charging without any wires. I maybe driving my car down to Monterey so this would be great for that, even though I know the directions are basically “drive south”

Yeah that aspect , with no wires is very cool

Ok, file update complete. Here’s what this looks like with the type of MagSafe battery now available, the one that @Bmachine originally designed the stand to hold is NLA.
The battery is used is this one, although there are others with a similar thin foot which MIGHT work. For $24 I ordered two, have one charging in the glovebox as backup. I added some cork on the bottom so it grips a little better
All credit for this goes to @Bmachine I will send him this file to do with as he wants. I’m happy to make a few/distribute if that’s what he’d like, so perhaps post here to gauge interest. Also thanks to @ScottAndrews who gave me some Fusion tips
