Hi Gerrit, that is some good news since I do need those hood blade plastic toppers, please let me know price. On the subject of the armrests I must confess that I already own not one but 2 sets of rear armrests (without the channel guides), nonetheless I have been wanting and searching for the plastic channel guides for the rear seatbelt rollers, so I have a crazy question for you, is there any possibility that those plastic channels could be 3D printed in order to be fitted into my existing armrests? If so how much would you be willing to charge? This is just a question Gerrit if not possible then no worries mate.

Me as well on a 3-d printed option. Not sure if someone has one of these that they are willing to send to me to use a scanner on to then try to print. Shouldn’t be too hard and the the idea would be modifying a current non-channel armrest to hold this piece

......The entire upper part of the armrest is different, not just the cutout for the additional belt guide. The upper block is smaller. This is necessary for the front belt pulley, which is attached to the wheel arch underneath. There's also an additional cutout on the side for the rear lap belts.
rg, Chris

Can anyone tell me whether the seat-belt armrests (as shown here) will fit into a car that didn't initially have the seat-belt-guide armrests? I have a 1972 car that did NOT have the seatbelt-guide armrests but am redoing my interior and have a line on some armrests that do have this seatbelt guide, so would be inclined to purchase those to have them done as part of the interior redo, but am not sure whether they will fit into the car.

Here are some pics showing what’s different….
Ideally you want, the Face lift (1974/75) armrests, rear seats, seat belts. The retractor/ bolt position will have to be raised as in the pics…..

These pictures are helpful. A few questions
1. I currently have my rear seat belts with their roller sitting in front of the seat since I don’t have the cutout armrests (see picture). I have a metal bracket that bridges the base of the roller and an attachment point on the frame to secure it. Would these newer armrests allow me to place the roller out of view or was there also a change in the metal wheel well in newer cars that would limit me?

2. You mention newer seats. Is there something different about the rear seats in the later vs earlier cars? I don’t care too much about the rear seat belts, the current version I have works and I don’t expect people to be riding back there.
3. Do the later style armrests actually fit into my car or again is there a change in the metal framing that prevents them from being installed cleanly?

Thanks, I appreciate the explanations and input

That’s a very unusual place for the retractor. Never seen that version before…… not from factory

The seats from the later cars have a cut out for the reactor but still works with pre face lift seats (I’ve done this swap in my car).
The purpose for those armrests would be to have the rollers hidden behind the armrests and basically mimicking the face lift front seat belt system.

The later armrests will fit without any mods at all. The dimensions are the same. The top metal bracket is positioned different but that’s a minor adjustment.

Like I said before, if you want the roller to be hid behind the armrest, you’ll need to raise the bolt hole (rear wheel lip) and have the right length seat belts…..

Yes that retractor position is one that I had made based on a former thread about seat belt positions. Not my original idea but a modification. So sounds like perhaps I should pursue getting those later style armrests. My plan is to have my current “nice but not perfect” set of front and rear seats kept as original. I was going to redo the current armrests but know that the leather color won’t perfectly match. For the nominal cost of the newer style armrests I then could have complete set plus a bonus of a better seatbelt roller location.

The person who has the armrests might have the seat belts too? If not, keep an eye open for those, they are unique in that the have a hockey stick style which keeps the belts away from rear passenger entry.

Yes they do - I did a retrofit when installing automatic belts

this is a side-by-side comparison from pre-and post facelift - you see the later ones go higher and leave space for the hidden belt rollup:
